John joined the firm in 2024, having worked previously for two of the then “big eight” firms of chartered accountants and also as tax partner in three prominent firms.
He has advised clients in various sectors, and particularly owner managed businesses. His experience is diverse, ranging from company reorganisations, business sales and acquisitions, share valuations for tax purposes, through to succession and Inheritance Tax planning.
Throughout his career, John has contributed to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, including having been a member of its Taxation Committee for 25 years, convenor for 6 of these, and is currently a member of the private client tax committee.
